India’s 75th Independence Day was celebrated with pomp and gaiety by Saifee Golden Jubilee School. Under the guidance of Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin (TUS), Saifee Golden Jubilee School brought to life the spirit of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” initiative of the Govt of India.

The special Independence Day programme began with the hoisting of the Tricolour by the Hon Secretary of the School, Sk Saifuddin bhai Mandviwala, in the presence of distinguished guests, teachers and students of the school. The flag hoisting was conducted against the backdrop of martial music played by the legendary Ezzi Band.

The flag hoisting was followed by a programme in the school auditorium consisting of various events in which students expressed their love for the country. Through plays, presentations and rendition of patriotic songs, the students recalled the sacrifices of the thousands of freedom fighters who laid down their lives for India’s freedom.

The students ended their performance by sending out a message of love, peace and brotherhood.

The Chief Guest of the event was Mr Budhadev Mukhopadhyay (DC II, South Division, Kolkata Police). The Guest of Honour was Mr Amit (Additional OC Park St PS).

Mr Budhadev Mukhopadhyay also addressed the students where he touched upon the importance of the youth joining the Army and Police Services in the country.

The Hon Secretary, Sk Saifuddin bhai Mandviwala, also addressed the gathering where he expressed his appreciation for the hard work and talents of the students and teachers for putting up the wonderful programme.
